This year Nene Valley Community Band were invited to play at the the Milton Keynes City of Lights Festival in Cambpell Park. We provided the warm-up to the lights procession, final concert and drone display.

NVCB Summer Tour
Nene Valley Community Band have a busy summer of concerts ahead of us, so there are plenty of opportunities to see us in action.
Saturday 6th July we will be playing at Hollowell Steam Rally https://www.hollowellsteam.com/
Sunday 14th July we will be playing at Bozeat Village Fete
On Sunday 28th July we will be playing at Abington Park Bandstand https://www.northamptontowncouncil.gov.uk/bandsinthepark
And we round it off with an appearance on Sunday 25th August at the Weedon Weekender
Hopefully you will see us at one of these events!
Remembrance Day Recording
Following from last year’s recording of Hymn To The Fallen, this summer, Nene Valley Community Band with guests from Abington Wind Band recorded an arrangement of Abide With Me at St. Matthew’s Church, Northampton

Summer Concerts
Nene Valley Community Band have confirmed that they will be playing this summer at 2 events:
On Saturday 1st July you can catch the band performing throughout the day at Hollowell Steam and Heavy Horse Show (https://www.hollowellsteam.com/)
On Sunday 30th July we will be performing at the Abington Park bandstand from 1pm
There will also be news of recordings and other performances later in the year. We look forward to seeing you at one of them!
Looking back to Hymn to the Fallen
Last November, Nene Valley Community Band, Open Stage Choir and guests from Abington Wind Band, Potterspury Big Band and Grafton District Scout Band recorded Hymn To The Fallen (theme from Saving Private Ryan) at St. Matthew’s Church. Here are some pictures from the day, taken by Andrew Ponting.

This Saturday, Nene Valley Community Band and the Open Stage Choir , along with additional musicians from Abington Wind Band will be making a special recording of Hymn to The Fallen, the theme from Saving Private Ryan.
We will be sharing the recorded video hopefully in time for Remembrance Sunday, watch this space!

NVCB Christmas Recording
It might still be November, but the band have been keeping themselves busy whilst we can’t meet, recording our own version of In The Bleak Midwinter, complete with Christmas outfits!

NVCB record Lockdown tribute to NHS
As one of our own in the band works in the ICU at Northampton General Hospital, the band got together online to put together our cover of ‘What a Wonderful World’. Thanks to the help of James Norden at http://upbeatimage.co.uk we’ve been able to produce this very professional looking video, which has already featured in the Northampton Chronicle.
